ASIS International Tri State Chapter 41 has formed a committee annually (since 2018), accepting written recommendations on who should be inducted into the Greater Cincinnati Security Hall of Fame. The committee recommends one active security professional, one retired, or posthumous individual to be inducted into the Hall of Fame each year. Induction is done in December, at the end of year meeting.
*A plaque with the Security Hall of Fame Inductees is displayed in the Greater Cincinnati Police Museum.
Rules:
1)To be considered for the Hall of Fame every person shall have a minimum of 30 years of experience or it’s equivalent in the security field directly.
2) All inductees must be of high moral ethics with outstanding careers that set them apart from others. They must have been active can-do players in the security profession in words and actions.
3) The inductee must have resided in the Greater Cincinnati area for a majority of their career and over half of their career in the Greater Cincinnati 9-county region.
4) Law Enforcement Service is valued but can only be used as a maximum of 50% of the service requirement in the dedicated security field section. For example, a retired police officer must have at least 15 years of security responsibility to be considered.
5) The award is a true regional Security Hall of Fame. Credit and credibility are given for being an ASIS International member, but it is not required. Being a member shows a level of professionalism. We vote on the best person in the region and only one person a year is inducted.
6) In rare cases a deceased member who has distinguished themself as a leader in the field can be inducted in a posthumous fashion.
7) Annually at least three members in good standing shall form the HOF committee. If someone is interested in being on the committee or making a submission, they must contact the ASIS Cincinnati Board by November 1st.
8) The executive committee shall be given the nominations and final vote shall be taken. All must agree that the person chosen meets the standards and confirms their choice.
9) An anonymous donor has funded this program for 10 years and agreed to pay for all costs associated with the program including the physical award which is a large gold finish key with the year and the recipient’s name emblazed on it.
10) The Director of the Greater Cincinnati Police Museum (308 Reading Road Cincinnati, Ohio), Bill Beuke has agreed to display a permanent Security Hall of Fame plaque at the museum with names of the annual inductees.
